Patna: On the death anniversary of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Bihar’s Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, ACS S Siddhartha, shared an inspirational message for teachers across the state. In his letter, he said that teachers should not only teach subjects but also help students dream big and become confident and curious.
He reminded teachers that students today could become tomorrow’s scientists, leaders, or even the next Abdul Kalam — if they have the support of caring and inspiring teachers. He said that this day is not only for remembering Dr Kalam, but also for teachers to think about their important role in shaping young minds.
ACS S Siddhartha also quoted Dr Kalam, who had said that teaching is a sacred job because it builds both the future and the character of a person. Kalam always wanted to be remembered as a teacher and believed that schools were the best place for nation-building. He used to ask students about their dreams and wanted teachers to guide them with kindness and vision.
The Education Secretary said that Bihar was once known as a land of knowledge, with world-famous universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila. He said this legacy could be revived if every teacher saw themselves as a nation-builder. He also shared that many efforts are being made to improve education quality in Bihar and to bring back its proud history of learning and values.
