Patna/Lucknow: The feud between Bhojpuri singer and BJP leader Pawan Singh and his wife Jyoti Singh reached a new level of intensity on Wednesday, as Jyoti made a series of shocking allegations at a press conference, accusing the actor of repeated abuse, forced abortions, and psychological torment.
Speaking emotionally before reporters, Jyoti claimed she had been given abortion medicines by Pawan Singh against her will and was subjected to harassment when she resisted. “Pawan Singh says I’m yearning for a child. I want to ask, if I wanted a child, why did he give me medicine? When he gave me medicine, I would interrupt him — he would torture me,” she said.
Choking back tears, Jyoti further revealed that she had once attempted suicide by consuming 25 sleeping pills. “I was so distressed that I tried to end my life. I was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Even then, he didn’t come to see me,” she said.
In her statement, Jyoti also made an emotional appeal for security, saying she had been facing constant online and physical threats from Pawan Singh’s followers. “I request PM Modi, CM Yogi, and Amit Shah with folded hands — Pawan ji has security, but what about me? His fans are threatening me every day. Operation Sindoor was carried out. Modi ji, please save my sindoor too,” she said.
Jyoti accused Pawan Singh of using her for political gain during the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. “When you called me to campaign for you, our case was still in court. You applied sindoor again and promised to restore our relationship. Then you left me. First, he used me — now he is blaming me,” she said.
She added that Pawan Singh forced her to undergo multiple abortions, calling him a hypocrite for suggesting she was desperate to become a mother. “A person who yearns for a child doesn’t feed abortion pills. He has had us abort several times,” Jyoti alleged.
In a defiant message, she also said she was not seeking publicity or a political platform, but justice. “I am not here for any drama, but for my rights and truth,” she asserted.
Pawan Singh, in his earlier press conference, had claimed Jyoti was trying to gain attention ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, saying, “She remembers me only now because the elections are near. She wants to become an MLA.”
Responding to that, Jyoti said, “If he accepts me as his wife, I will not contest elections. I will even break ties with my family. But I will not accept lies.”
