Patna: A crucial hearing in the firing case registered at Kadamkuan Police Station is scheduled for June 20, with the court set to consider the anticipatory bail plea of accused Faizal Khan and decide whether to extend the stay on his arrest.
Acting on the court’s directions, the police will submit an updated case diary and details of Khan’s criminal history on Saturday.
According to the police case diary, an altercation took place at around 10:10 pm on June 2, while the firing by Khan’s security guards allegedly occurred approximately 20 minutes later, at 10:30 pm.
Investigators have claimed that the firing was not carried out in self-defence but was intended to create panic and intimidate people. The court is expected to decide whether to continue or vacate the interim protection granted against Khan’s arrest.
The court will also hear the bail pleas of Khan’s two security guards, Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh, who have been named in connection with the firing incident.
June 20 is being viewed as a significant date in the case, as the current stay on Khan’s arrest expires on the same day and the bail applications of his bodyguards are also scheduled for hearing.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage reviewed by the police has reportedly brought the alleged firing into focus. Initially, no mention of the gunshots was made by Khan’s side following the incident.
The first information report (FIR) lodged by Khan’s manager also did not mention any firing. However, police officials said that an examination of CCTV footage showed both security guards, Pradeep Kumar and Talebar Singh, allegedly opening fire.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
