Chhapra: As the star-studded Bihar Assembly election campaign enters its final stretch, a war of words has erupted between Bhojpuri film icons Khesari Lal Yadav and Pawan Singh, who are now pitted against each other on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
Addressing reporters in Chhapra, RJD’s candidate Khesari Lal Yadav responded to Pawan Singh’s recent remarks made at a rally in Amnour, Saran district. “He is my elder brother,” Khesari said, “but it’s a person’s actions that make them great. I don’t make personal comments.”
Referring to Pawan’s jibe that he “doesn’t live on one thing,” Khesari replied pointedly, “What should I say? I told him, ‘At least I live with one wife.’ I value my relationships very much.”

Earlier, at his Amnour rally, BJP leader and actor Pawan Singh had taken an indirect swipe at Khesari without naming him. “Before elections, he used to say that Pawan Bhaiya made him, then that Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ promoted him, and now he says he made it through his own hard work,” Singh said. “Brothers, you are wise enough to know what someone who speaks differently from their actions might do next.”
He added, “One should be with someone from the heart, not just the mind,” in an apparent reference to Khesari’s shifting political stance.
The exchange between the two Bhojpuri heavyweights has added a dramatic, celebrity-infused dimension to the Chhapra assembly segment, where both actors command massive fan followings. Their rivalry, once limited to the silver screen, has now become a focal point of Bihar’s political theatre.
