Patna: Union Minister Lallan Singh has alleged that the Dularchand Yadav murder case in Mokama was part of a “deliberate conspiracy”, claiming the police must identify and punish all those involved. Singh, who is leading the campaign for JDU candidate Anant Singh, made the statement while addressing a rally in Mokama on Monday.
During the same event, Singh remarked that “some leaders should not be allowed to go out on the day of voting.” He added, “Lock them in their homes. When they plead, tell them to come with us, vote, and stay at home.”
Case Filed for Code Violation
Lallan Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary are facing legal action for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct during their 30 km roadshow from Pandarak to Mokama. The convoy reportedly included 48 vehicles, far exceeding the 10-vehicle limit authorised by election officials.
Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that a case had been registered against the organisers, and several vehicles without permits were seized.
Anant Singh’s Influence Persists
Despite being in jail over the Dularchand Yadav murder case, Anant Singh’s family continues to hold sway in Mokama, a constituency long dominated by the Singh family. His brother Dilip Kumar Singh and wife Neelam Devi have both represented the seat in the past.
On Monday, Lallan Singh reiterated his appeal to voters, urging them to “ensure Anant Singh’s victory,” insisting that his imprisonment would have “no impact on the election outcome.”
Roadshow Schedule
Singh is scheduled to hold another 13 km roadshow today from Aonta to Bahapar in Mokama, beginning at 11 am, after meeting party workers in Ghoswari earlier in the morning.
He has maintained that the ongoing investigation will reveal “where the railway stone came from” in the Tal area of Mokama — a key detail in the Dularchand case.
