Darbhanga: Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) has launched an online portal for the recruitment of guest faculty members in affiliated colleges. The university will fill a total of 561 temporary teaching positions across 16 subjects.
According to the university administration, interested candidates can submit their applications online until May 23. Applicants will also be required to send a signed hard copy of the application form to the university office by May 30.
Officials said the scrutiny of applications will be followed by interviews, which are likely to begin in the first week of June.
Selected candidates will receive an honorarium of Rs 1,500 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs 50,000 per month. The appointments will remain valid for 11 months or until regular appointments are made, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have secured at least 55 percent marks in postgraduate studies. Reserved category applicants will receive a relaxation of 5 percent marks as per norms.
Applicants must also have qualified NET/JRF or SET/SLET examinations. However, PhD degree holders will be given exemption according to existing rules.
The maximum age limit for applicants has been fixed at 55 years as of January 1, 2026.
Subject-Wise Vacancies
The highest number of vacancies have been announced in Hindi and History with 89 posts each, followed by English with 75 vacancies and Economics with 70 posts.

University officials stated that the recruitment process will strictly follow the Bihar government’s reservation policy and prescribed eligibility norms.
