Hajipur: Three people were killed and four others injured in a tragic road accident near Naiper in the Industrial Police Station area of Hajipur early Monday morning.
According to police, a luxury car traveling from Jandaha to Hajipur rammed into a 16-wheeler truck parked on the wrong side of the road. The impact was so severe that three occupants of the car died on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries.
All the deceased were residents of Madhya Pradesh and had reportedly come to Bihar for the exit polls of the Assembly elections. They were identified as Rajabai Chaudhary (23) from Gunaur, Hemant Pratap Yadav (24) from Chhatarpur, and Ramswaroop Yadav (23) from Kardhania Bakswaha, Madhya Pradesh.
Police said the bodies were trapped inside the mangled car and had to be pulled out using a crane. The deceased were then sent to Sadar Hospital, Hajipur, for post-mortem.
The injured—identified as Pushpa Chaudhary (28), wife of Arun Chaudhary of Chakunda alias Milki village in Hajipur; Shalini Verma (26), daughter of Saroj Verma from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh; Kapil Kumar (24), also from Sitapur; and Shivam Kumar (19), son of the late Shiv Bachchan Singh from Mohanpur in Samastipur—were rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Industrial Police Station chief Arvind Paswan confirmed the details and said further investigation is underway to determine how the truck came to be parked on the wrong side of the road.
The accident scene drew a crowd of locals, and photos from the aftermath show the severely damaged car and rescue operations using a crane.
