Siwan: A shooting took place near the main gate of Sadar Hospital in Siwan, Bihar, around midnight on Friday. The incident happened after a fight broke out between two groups over driving ambulances in the area. Police said several gunshots were fired to scare people and show dominance in the dispute.
The injured man has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a private ambulance driver from Rampur Kothi village under Bhagwanpur police station. He was rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment, where doctors found two bullets in his body. He was later referred to Patna for better treatment, but his family took him to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh instead.
People around the hospital were terrified when the gunshots rang out. Police, including the Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Tiwari, reached the spot soon after the firing and spoke to witnesses. SP Tiwari said the shooter has been identified and will be arrested soon. He added that there was an old fight between the two groups over ambulance operations, which led to this attack.
