Motihari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was shown black flags during his public meeting in Motihari, Bihar on Friday. Police detained three young men after they waved black flags while Modi was addressing the crowd. According to officials, the protest was against the sugar mill in the area that has been closed for a long time.
Champaran Range DIG Harkishore Rai said that the three detained youths were being questioned to know their intentions behind the protest. East Champaran SP Swarn Prabhat explained that they wanted to draw attention towards the closed sugar industry, which has affected many families in the area.
Police said the detained men are Jitendra Tiwari, Vikrant Gautam, and Ravikant Ravi, all from different places in East Champaran district. They carried pieces of black cloth to show their anger during the rally. Further legal action will be taken based on their statements.
Meanwhile, former Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav shared a video on social media claiming it showed people waving black flags at Modi’s rally. The video shows two people climbing a pole and waving flags, and it is going viral. However, police have not confirmed the video’s authenticity yet.
