BodhGaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a new employment initiative during a public meeting in Gaya on Friday, pledging financial support for young people securing their first jobs in the private sector.
PM Modi praised Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for ensuring transparency in teacher recruitment and for launching a state campaign to expand government employment. He said that the central government’s new programme – the Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana, launched on August 15 – would complement these efforts.
Under the scheme, young people will receive a one-time payment of Rs 15,000 upon securing their first private sector job. Companies that hire them will also be offered separate incentives. PM Modi argued that this would help reduce the need for migration by creating opportunities within Bihar.
From the stage in Gaya, the prime minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 12,000 crore in sectors including energy, health and urban development. “These will strengthen Bihar’s industries and create new opportunities for young people,” he said, congratulating residents on the developments.
Emphasising his government’s focus on social welfare,PM Modi added: “Removing difficulties from the lives of the poor, making the lives of women easier – I get the most happiness in doing this work as a servant of the people.”
