Katihar: On the second day of his Bihar election tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a pointed swipe at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, suggesting the opposition was deliberately hiding its past from voters. Addressing a packed rally in Katihar on Monday, the Prime Minister quipped, “Those who ruled Bihar for years and brought Jungle Raj — where have they gone? Their photos have vanished from the posters. They are so small and hidden that even a telescope can’t find them.”
Without naming Lalu Prasad, Modi asked rhetorically, “He is such a prominent leader, with so many family members contesting. Why this concealment? What sin is the RJD hiding from the youth of Bihar? Why is his name not being taken with pride?”
The Prime Minister also took aim at Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, suggesting that the younger Yadav was ashamed of acknowledging his political lineage. “Why are they afraid to print their father’s name? Why is there such embarrassment?” he asked, to loud cheers from the crowd.
pic.twitter.com/FyF80r52tU

Turning his attack toward the Congress, PM Modi said the party had been reduced to a symbolic presence in the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan). “Congress has almost disappeared from the RJD’s posters. The RJD showed them a gun and forced the announcement of their own Chief Ministerial candidate. Congress leaders were making tall claims, but now even their photos and promises have been shrunk,” Modi remarked.
He alleged that both the RJD and Congress were trying to deceive voters through cosmetic rebranding, while their “record of misrule, corruption, and chaos” remained fresh in the minds of the people.
The remarks came after Modi’s roadshow in Patna on Sunday and rallies in Nawada and Bhojpur, as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) intensifies its campaign ahead of the November 6 first phase of voting.
Framing the election as a choice between “Vikas (development) and Jungle Raj”, PM Modi urged voters to reject “those trying to hide their past” and vote for a “transparent, accountable government under the NDA.”
