Muzaffarpur/Patna: A total of 471 women trainee constables graduated from the Bihar State Armed Police (BSAP) training centre in Muzaffarpur after completing 10 months of training, officials said.
The recruits took part in a passing-out parade at the BSAP campus and formally entered police service after taking the oath of duty.
The batch included 254 trainees from Samastipur district and 217 from Siwan district.
DIG reviews parade
Satyanarayan Kumar, deputy inspector general (DIG), BSAP North Zone, Muzaffarpur, attended the ceremony as chief guest and took the salute during the parade.
Addressing the recruits, Kumar said policing in the modern era extends beyond enforcing the law and includes public engagement, use of technology and sensitive handling of citizens.
He urged the newly inducted constables to serve with honesty, discipline and commitment.
Focus on modern policing
Officials said the 10-month training programme covered physical fitness, police manuals, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), law and order management, map reading, traffic control and smart policing practices.
The training, police officials said, is aimed at preparing recruits to handle operational and public-facing responsibilities in varied conditions.
The ceremony marked the formal induction of the trainees into Bihar’s policing system as the state continues to expand women’s participation in law enforcement.
