Patna: Muzaffarpur is set to witness a significant industrial boost with the opening of 18 new factories, backed by an investment of Rs 73.76 crore. This development is expected to generate employment for around 10,000 people in the district. The Bihar State Investment Promotion Board has given the green light for these industrial units, which will be set up across both urban and rural areas, including the Bela and Motipur industrial zones.

The new factories will focus on manufacturing a variety of products, such as poultry feed, PVC pipes, steel cupboards, textiles, and white bricks. The approval came after a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board in Patna, chaired by Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, where proposals from entrepreneurs were reviewed.

Following the approval, construction of these new factories is expected to begin soon in different parts of the district.

Key Industrial Units:

– A mineral water unit will be established in Bochahan.
– A white brick manufacturing unit will be set up in Kanti.
– In the Motipur Industrial Area, a poultry feed plant will be developed with an investment of Rs 8.93 crore.
– A steel cupboard unit in Patahi will be set up at a cost of Rs 1.28 crore.
– Warehouses will be constructed in Maithi, Gai Ghat (Rs 8.47 crore), Majhauli, Bochahan (Rs 1.83 crore), and Bhikhanpur, Ahiyapur (Rs 3.85 crore).

Other key investments include:

– A packaging unit in Madwan with Rs 7.38 crore.
– A white brick manufacturing unit in Rasulpur, Kanti with Rs 7 crore.
– Another mineral water unit in Bochahan at a cost of Rs 5.30 crore.

Boost to Rural Economy:

The opening of these 18 factories is expected to give a significant boost to economic activities in Muzaffarpur. The construction of these units will create a large number of direct and indirect employment opportunities. Not only will this bring job creation, but it will also drive infrastructure development in the region.

With a shortage of land in the Bela and Motipur industrial areas, investors are now focusing on rural regions, bringing employment opportunities closer to residents. This expansion into rural areas will ensure that people from these regions have access to job opportunities without the need to relocate.
