Rajgir: Nalanda University has convened an International Conference on India–Vietnam Buddhist Heritage: Retrospect and Prospects, bringing together scholars, researchers, monks, and delegates from India, Vietnam, and other countries. The two-day event, held from 10–11 October 2025 on the university’s historic campus, was organised in collaboration with the Buddhist Women Research Center and the Vietnam Buddhist Research Institute.
The inaugural session, hosted at the Sushma Swaraj Auditorium, welcomed participants with a focus on the enduring significance of Buddhist heritage in promoting dialogue, scholarship, and mutual understanding. This marks the second major international conference hosted by Nalanda University within a month, following the East Asia Summit for Higher Education Institutions in September 2025.

Over the course of the conference, delegates will participate in thematic discussions and paper presentations on topics including Buddhist heritage, cultural diplomacy, peacebuilding, and the contemporary relevance of Buddhist philosophy. The event aims to foster research partnerships and highlight the historical links between India and Vietnam through Buddhism’s unifying message of coexistence and mutual respect.
