Patna: Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar celebrated his 45th birthday on Monday by offering prayers at Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction along with his father, former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The two leaders worshipped Lord Mahavir before Nishant Kumar performed Jalabhishek at the Shiva temple within the temple complex.
Offered Prayers for Bihar’s Well-Being
After offering prayers at Mahavir Mandir, Nishant Kumar performed Jalabhishek to Lord Shiva. During the rituals, he prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Bihar, according to those present at the temple.
Devotees gathered at the temple also extended birthday greetings to the Health Minister during the visit.
Security Arrangements at the Temple
Special security arrangements were put in place at the Mahavir Mandir complex during the visit. After completing the religious rituals, Nishant Kumar and Nitish Kumar left the temple.
Birthday wishes continued to pour in throughout the day from supporters, well-wishers and leaders from different political parties.
Date of Birth Clarified Earlier This Year
Nishant Kumar’s date of birth had previously been reported in several places as July 20, 1975, leading to references that placed his age at 51.
However, on March 14, Bihar minister Ashok Chaudhary stated in a social media post that Nishant Kumar’s correct date of birth is July 20, 1981.
Based on that clarification, Nishant Kumar turned 45 on July 20, 2026.
