Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to officially start campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections on October 21st. The day has been marked as the formal launch of the Janata Dal United’s (JDU) election campaign. The first rally will be held in the Meenapur Assembly constituency, with the Meenapur High School playground chosen as the venue. According to party sources, this rally will begin at 12 noon, where the Chief Minister is expected to address a large gathering of supporters.
After the Meenapur rally, Nitish Kumar will head to the Kanti Assembly constituency for his second public meeting, which is expected to start at 2 pm. Both rallies are considered important for the party, as these constituencies are politically significant and can influence voter sentiment in the surrounding areas. Party leaders say that these meetings will energise the JDU cadre and create a strong start for the election campaign across the state.
The campaign launch comes immediately after the nomination deadline for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections ended. All major political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), have started active campaigning. BJP leaders are working to strengthen their own campaign efforts, while the JDU hopes that Nitish Kumar’s rallies will capture public attention and set the tone for the elections.
Party officials have highlighted that this initial day of rallies will be followed by a series of election meetings in other districts. Nitish Kumar’s speeches in Meenapur and Kanti are expected to energise supporters, attract new voters, and create momentum for the JDU ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The Chief Minister’s presence and words at these rallies are seen as crucial in shaping the political atmosphere in Muzaffarpur and neighbouring districts.
