Patna: A 25-year-old software engineer returning to his home in Shivhar district from Bangalore went missing after exiting Patna Airport, raising alarm among his family and authorities. The man, identified as Venu Chaitanya, had arrived in the city on 16 October to spend Diwali and Chhath holidays with relatives.
According to reports, Chaitanya contacted his family via phone around 6:30 PM from the airport premises, saying he was booking a taxi to Gandhi Maidan. Shortly thereafter, his phone went offline, and he was no longer reachable.
“We filed a missing person complaint at Patna Airport police station when his phone went unanswered,” a family member said.
Airport CCTV reportedly captured him in the outdoor area near the taxi stands, but he did not reach his intended destination. Authorities are now examining call detail records (CDR) and checking his social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram, for clues. His last known conversation was reportedly with his brother-in-law immediately after leaving the airport.
The Patna Police have initiated a thorough investigation to trace his whereabouts. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in locating the missing engineer.
“We are exploring all leads including digital footprints and CCTV footage. Efforts are ongoing to locate Venu Chaitanya,” a police officer said.
