Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar embarked on the second phase of his Samriddhi Yatra early this morning, departing from Patna by helicopter to Madhubani, the district headquarters of Mithilanchal. The tour, aimed at reviewing development projects and engaging directly with the public, will see the Chief Minister inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple initiatives across the district.
Upon arrival, CM is scheduled to inspect Mithila Haat Phase-2, a key development project, before inaugurating initiatives worth approximately Rs. 361 Crore. The programme includes visits to the Panchayat Bhawan, a local pond, and the newly constructed Jeevika Bhawan, as well as interactions with stalls set up by Jeevika women’s self-help groups.
The Samriddhi Yatra will also feature direct engagements with citizens, during which CM will present an overview of his 20-year tenure and outline the state’s development roadmap for the next five years. Additionally, a high-level review meeting with officials is planned to assess the progress of ongoing projects, with instructions issued for accelerated implementation where necessary.
The first phase of the Prosperity Yatra, held from January 16 to 24, covered nine districts: West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali. During this period, Kumar conducted review meetings on the implementation of state schemes and discussed the Seven Resolves-2 and Seven Resolves-3, focusing on the broader development agenda for Bihar.
With the second phase now underway, the Chief Minister is expected to continue consolidating his development agenda while strengthening direct engagement with the public.
