Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remained politically active on Thursday, making an early morning visit to the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Chaudhary before carrying out a surprise inspection of the Janata Dal (United) office in Patna.
After meeting Vijay Chaudhary, Nitish Kumar was seen walking toward his vehicle when he suddenly signalled security personnel to stop. The former chief minister paused near his car and held another brief conversation with the deputy chief minister.
According to people present at the spot, Nitish Kumar asked Vijay Chaudhary to visit him later in the evening and provide a complete update on ongoing political and administrative developments.
Nitish Kumar Repeats Request Before Leaving
As he was getting into his vehicle, Nitish Kumar again told Vijay Chaudhary to come to his residence in the evening and “explain everything in detail — what is happening and what is not happening”.
The interaction drew attention amid ongoing political discussions within the ruling alliance in Bihar.
Surprise Visit to JD(U) Headquarters
Following the meeting, Nitish Kumar reached the headquarters of Janata Dal (United) unexpectedly.
The party office hosts a daily public hearing programme attended by ministers. On Thursday, ministers Ashok Chaudhary, Madan Sahni, and Shweta Gupta were scheduled to participate in the programme.
However, when Nitish Kumar arrived at the office, none of the three ministers were present.

Sources at the party office said Ashok Chaudhary reached the headquarters shortly before Nitish Kumar’s departure.
As Nitish Kumar’s convoy moved out of the premises, Ashok Chaudhary approached the vehicle and greeted him with folded hands. The convoy, however, continued moving without stopping.
Nitish Kumar remained at the party office for around 10 minutes, during which he interacted with party leaders and workers.
Message to Party Workers
During the interaction, Nitish Kumar assured party workers that organisational activities were functioning normally.
“Do not worry. Continue your work. Everything is going smoothly,” he told party workers present at the office.
TRE-4 Candidates Raise Recruitment Demand
Later in the day, a delegation of TRE-4 candidates also met Nitish Kumar. Student leader Dilip Kumar accompanied the candidates during the meeting.
Speaking to reporters, Dilip Kumar said the delegation demanded that the notification for TRE-4 recruitment be issued for 46,000 teaching posts in Bihar.
