Patna: Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, paid tribute on Wednesday to the late Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha on the 20th anniversary of his death, attending a memorial ceremony at Naveen Sinha Park in Patna.
Sinha, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and an influential organisational figure in Bihar, was remembered for his simplicity, commitment to public service and role in strengthening the party’s base in the state.
The event was attended by Bihar governor Arif Mohammad Khan, deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, and a large number of BJP leaders and workers. Floral tributes were offered at Sinha’s portrait and statue, while speakers reflected on his political career and organisational contributions.
Party leaders said Sinha’s life continued to serve as an inspiration for workers, adding that his approach to organisation-building and public engagement remained relevant to the party’s present-day efforts.

Nitin Nabin, who was recently appointed BJP national working president, also attended the ceremony. Remembering his father, he said he would strive to follow the values and principles he had learnt from him, emphasising service to society and inclusiveness. He described his commitment to working for public welfare and staying connected with people at the grassroots.
Nitin Nabin’s appointment to the party’s national executive is seen as a significant responsibility at a time when the BJP is seeking to further expand and consolidate its organisational strength. His political career has been closely linked to his father’s legacy in Bihar.
Party workers and local residents also gathered at the memorial, paying their respects and calling on younger generations to draw inspiration from Sinha’s emphasis on social harmony and public service.
