Patna: Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, has said there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or cooking gas in the state, urging people not to panic or believe rumours about fuel scarcity.
Speaking about concerns over supply, Sinha said the government was closely monitoring the situation and responding immediately to any issues that arise. He assured the public that the administration was making every effort to ensure that residents do not face difficulties due to fuel availability.
Sinha acknowledged that minor disruptions could occur in some areas but described them as temporary. He said officials were working continuously to maintain the normal supply of petrol and diesel across the state.
The deputy chief minister added that the government remained in constant contact with district authorities and was receiving regular updates from across Bihar. If supply is disrupted in any location, he said, steps are taken promptly to restore it.
Appealing to the public to remain calm, Sinha warned against misinformation that could create panic. He said rumours about fuel shortages often lead to unnecessary crowds at petrol pumps, which can temporarily worsen the situation.
Sinha also said the government was keeping a close watch on those involved in fuel black marketing. Officials have been instructed to take immediate action if complaints are received.
He said the government would not allow the exploitation of consumers under any circumstances and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in black marketing of petrol, diesel or gas.
