Barh: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at NTPC Barh on Saturday, August 15 with a programme featuring flag-hoisting, a parade, cultural performances and a tricolour display by the CISF Fire Wing.
A large number of NTPC employees, their family members and other guests attended the celebrations at the NTPC Barh complex.
The programme began at 9am with the arrival of the chief guest and the singing of Vande Mataram. C Satya Rama Krishna, Executive Director, NTPC Barh, subsequently hoisted the national flag.
Students of Notre Dame Academy performed the national anthem, following which the chief guest, accompanied by Naveen Kumar, Commandant, CISF, inspected the parade.
The ceremony continued with the NTPC anthem and an address by the chief guest.
Cultural Programme And Awards
Tricolour balloons were released into the sky as part of the celebrations, followed by an award distribution ceremony.
Children from Bal Bhavan and Notre Dame Academy presented a cultural programme that drew applause from the audience.
The CISF Fire Wing added to the spectacle by creating a tricolour formation using water jets, bringing together themes of freedom, unity and patriotism.
A separate flag-hoisting ceremony was also held at the Service Building (Stage-2), where Harekrishna Jena, Chief General Manager (Operation & Maintenance), hoisted the national flag.
The celebrations concluded with the participation of employees, families and staff in an atmosphere centred on national pride and unity.
