Over 16 Lakh Candidates to Appear for Bihar Constable Exam from July 16

The CSBC will conduct the exam in six phases across all districts of Bihar to fill nearly 20,000 constable posts.

Patna: The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) will hold a major recruitment exam to fill 19,838 constable posts in Bihar. The exam will be conducted in six phases from July 16 to August 3, 2025. A total of 16,73,586 candidates will appear for the test at 627 centres spread across all 38 districts of the state.

The exam will be held on July 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 and August 3. The recruitment notification was first released on March 11 and the last date to apply was April 25. Out of over 17 lakh applications received, more than 16 lakh were found valid after checking. Some applications were incomplete, cancelled by candidates, or rejected for various reasons.

CSBC Chairman and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jitendra Kumar said the board is fully prepared to ensure a free and fair exam. CCTV cameras will be used to monitor all centres, and live footage will be available at the board’s headquarters. Signal jammers will be installed to block 5G and Wi-Fi. Police and district officials will be in charge of smooth and safe conduct of the exam.

To prevent cheating, no candidate will get a centre in their home district. The date and centre details will be available on the CSBC website after June 20. The two-hour exam will start at 12 noon. Candidates can enter centres between 9:30 am and 10:30 am with their e-admit card and a valid ID. Pens and question booklets will be given at the centre, so no extra material needs to be brought.
