Patna: In a significant crackdown on illicit activities, police conducted a raid on a restaurant-cum-guest house near the Paliganj subdivision headquarters in Patna, apprehending the manager and detaining three minor couples found in objectionable conditions.
Acting on confidential information regarding illegal operations at the “Khana Khazana” restaurant-cum-guest house, located near Dharhara turn in the Paliganj police station area, a team led by Paliganj DSP Rajiv Chandra Singh and local police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar Singh executed the raid.
Owner Absconds, Manager Arrested, Minors Detained
Upon realizing the police presence, the owner of the establishment managed to flee the scene. However, the restaurant manager, Rajkumar, was immediately arrested. All three minor couples found inside were taken into custody and transported to the police station for further investigation. The raid caused a stir and an atmosphere of chaos in the surrounding area.
Local residents expressed concerns, stating that similar illegal activities are reportedly rampant in many hotels and restaurants throughout the Paliganj subdivision. They urged continuous police action, emphasizing that such establishments often cater to individuals without proper identification, leading to unlawful conduct.
Ongoing Investigation and Future Action
Paliganj police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar Singh confirmed that the raid was based on credible intelligence and involved both male and female police personnel under the DSP’s leadership. Investigations revealed that the restaurant was operating without valid documents and was engaged in illegal business practices. An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident.
Paliganj DSP Rajiv Chandra Singh affirmed the police’s commitment to taking stringent legal action against all establishments found to be conducting such illegal businesses across the entire subdivision area. He stated that similar raids and strict measures would continue to be implemented to curb these activities.
