Patna: The weather took a dramatic turn in Bihar on Friday morning, with the skies over Patna turning dark within minutes, followed by heavy rain and gusty winds. The sudden downpour brought much-needed relief from the stifling humidity, not just in the state capital but across 12 districts, including Hajipur, Nawada, Begusarai, and Samastipur.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a statewide thunderstorm alert, with orange alerts in 19 districts and yellow alerts in 19 others. The orange alert indicates the likelihood of heavy rainfall, lightning, and strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h.
Weather Update for Patna
In Patna, the day began with light drizzle, and the sky is expected to remain overcast throughout Friday. The IMD has issued an orange alert for the city as well, forecasting light to moderate rainfall through the day, with the possibility of heavy rain post-noon.
Temperatures in the capital are expected to range between 31 to 33°C during the day and 26 to 27°C at night. Winds may blow at 10 to 15 km/h, further aiding in temperature reduction and relief from humidity.
