Patna: The ongoing marital dispute between Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh and his estranged wife Jyoti Singh has intensified, with fresh controversy unfolding online even as divorce proceedings continue in court.
The latest flashpoint emerged after Jyoti Singh shared a video of herself singing the Bhojpuri track “Jaan Gaini Pyar Naikhe…”, referring to it as a song by her “husband”. She later clarified that she was unaware of the original singer, but not before the post triggered a wave of criticism and speculation across social media platforms.
Users were quick to respond, with some accusing her of seeking attention, while others voiced support for Pawan Singh. Several called for the video to be taken down, reflecting the increasingly polarised public response to the couple’s dispute.
Separately, a video of Pawan Singh has also circulated online in which he addresses the breakdown of the marriage. In it, the actor suggests that it might have been better had the divorce already been finalised, while also acknowledging the need for personal introspection. He has similarly stated in court that reconciliation is no longer possible.
The couple, who married in 2018, have been embroiled in legal proceedings since 2022. What began as a private dispute has since spilled into the public domain, marked by a series of allegations and counter-allegations. Reports indicate that the controversy may also be affecting Singh’s professional commitments.
Financial disagreements have further complicated matters. Jyoti Singh is reported to have sought substantial alimony, including a large monetary settlement and property, though details remain subject to court deliberation.
Meanwhile, Jyoti Singh’s continued activity on social media—particularly her posting of short-form videos—has drawn scrutiny, with some critics linking it to the deterioration of the relationship. Others argue that such activity falls within the realm of personal choice.
With the next hearing date approaching, a final ruling in the case is still awaited. However, the dispute has already evolved beyond a legal battle, becoming a widely followed public controversy shaped as much by online narratives as by courtroom proceedings.
