Patna: Flight operations at Patna airport were disrupted on Thursday after a combination of adverse weather conditions and technical issues led to delays across multiple services, causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers.
According to airport officials, 27 flights were affected during the day, including 17 departures and 10 arrivals. The delays ranged from around 30 minutes to as much as one hour and 45 minutes, depending on the route and airline.
The disruption led to heavy congestion inside the terminal building from the early hours of the morning. Passengers were seen lining up at airline counters and information desks, seeking updates on departure times and revised schedules. Several travellers expressed concern about missing onward connections due to the cascading delays.
Airport sources said flight operations were gradually stabilised as weather conditions improved. Airlines and airport authorities advised passengers to check the latest flight status with their respective carriers before heading to the airport, given the possibility of further disruptions.
Weather-related delays have been recurring at Patna airport in recent weeks, particularly during early morning and late-night hours, as fog and low visibility continue to affect operations during the winter season.
