Patna: Patna Airport will implement its winter flight schedule from October 24, with an increase in flight operations expected to provide passengers with more travel options and improved connectivity to major Indian cities.
The revised schedule will involve adjustments to flight timings and operations by airlines. Services to Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad are expected to see the most significant increases, although the final number of flights will depend on the schedules announced by individual carriers.
Flight Operations Declined Between June And September
During the summer season, Patna Airport handled an average of 40 pairs of flights. However, between June and September 2026, the number declined to an average of 32 pairs.
At one stage, operations dropped to just 28 pairs of flights, reducing the travel options available to passengers.
The introduction of the winter schedule is expected to reverse this decline, with airlines likely to increase frequencies on several routes.
Current Flight Services From Patna
At present, IndiGo operates the largest number of daily flights from Patna, with 27 services connecting the city to Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ranchi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Pune and Bhubaneswar.
Air India operates four flights serving Delhi and Mumbai, while SpiceJet operates two flights to these destinations.
Air India Express provides three daily flights connecting Patna with Delhi and Bengaluru.
Alliance Air operates three flights per week to Bhopal and Kolkata.
Under the winter schedule, airlines are expected to revise their operations, with additional services likely on high-demand routes.
Better Connectivity For International Travellers
The anticipated increase in flights could also benefit passengers travelling from Patna to international destinations, particularly countries in the Middle East.
Many passengers currently rely on connecting flights through Delhi, Mumbai or Hyderabad to reach their destinations abroad.
Changes in flight frequencies and departure timings on these routes directly affect the availability and convenience of onward international connections.
Additional flights could provide passengers with more choices and greater flexibility when planning connecting journeys.
Passengers Advised To Check Revised Timings
Although the winter schedule is expected to increase flight movements at Patna Airport, the exact number of additional services and their timings will depend on the operational plans released by the airlines.
Passengers planning to travel on or after October 24 have been advised to verify updated flight schedules, timings and seat availability with their respective airlines before making travel arrangements.
