Patna: Kayakalp Welfare Society organised a free eye check-up camp in Patna’s Buddha Colony on August 24, providing local residents and students with access to eye examinations and specialist consultations.
The camp was conducted with support from a team of specialists from Shankar Jyoti Netralaya, who examined participants and provided advice on treatment and eye care.
Eye examinations conducted using modern equipment
Residents attending the camp underwent eye examinations using an advanced autorefractometer machine.
The screening covered common concerns including reduced vision, early signs of cataract, watery eyes, irritation and blurred vision. Patients were given appropriate advice based on the findings.
The medical team also raised awareness about regular eye examinations and preventive eye care.
Patients with serious conditions referred for treatment
Patients identified with serious or potentially significant eye-related conditions were referred to Shankar Jyoti Netralaya for further examination and treatment.
The initiative was aimed at making basic eye-care services accessible to people who may face financial difficulties in accessing private healthcare.
Students and residents participate
A large number of students and local residents attended the camp and benefited from the free screening facility.
Members of Kayakalp Welfare Society said the organisation aims to take essential healthcare services to people who may otherwise be unable to afford regular medical consultations.
Participants appreciated the initiative and the availability of free eye screening and specialist advice in their neighbourhood.
