Patna: Patna Police have arrested builder Bhushan Singh, who is associated with Green Housing Society, in connection with multiple alleged land fraud cases registered at the Shri Krishnapuri Police Station.
According to the police, Singh is facing five cheating cases involving allegations of collecting money from people on the promise of providing land but allegedly failing to either deliver the promised properties or refund the money.
Alleged Fraud of Over Rs 5 Crore
Shri Krishnapuri Police Station House Officer (SHO) Jitendra Rana said Singh is engaged in the real estate business and is accused of accepting payments from several individuals for land deals that were allegedly never completed.
Police said five FIRs have been registered at the police station based on complaints from different victims. The total amount involved in the alleged fraud exceeds Rs 5 crore.
Arrested on Court-Issued Warrant
According to the SHO, Singh had been served notices on multiple occasions and was asked to join the investigation. However, he allegedly failed to cooperate despite repeated notices.
Following his continued absence, the investigating agency obtained an arrest warrant from the court, on the basis of which Singh was taken into custody.
Supporters and Lawyers Reach Police Station
Soon after news of the arrest spread, Singh’s supporters and lawyers reached the Shri Krishnapuri Police Station and reportedly attempted to secure his release. Police, however, said the arrest was carried out in accordance with the court’s warrant and legal procedures, and no action was taken under external pressure. The supporters later left the police station.
People associated with Singh claimed that he had not been properly served with the investigation notices and was called directly before being arrested. Police, however, maintained that multiple notices had been issued and that the accused neither responded nor cooperated with the investigation.
Business Operations Extended to Muzaffarpur
Police said Singh has also expanded his real estate and commercial business operations to Muzaffarpur, where he has established a showroom and other business ventures.
The accused will be produced before the court, and police may seek his remand if further custodial interrogation is required in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Officials said the investigation is continuing, and efforts are underway to identify any additional complainants or potential victims linked to the case.
