Patna: A woman died of a heart attack and two young men drowned in separate incidents during Chhath Puja rituals in Patna on Monday.
According to reports, the woman was offering Arghya — prayers to the Sun — at the riverbank in Malahi village when her health suddenly deteriorated after taking a dip in the water. Family members rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
In a separate tragedy, two young men lost their lives while offering Arghya in another part of the district. Eyewitnesses said one man accidentally ventured into deeper water and began to drown. Two others jumped in to rescue him, but all three were swept away by the current. Locals managed to pull one man to safety, but the other two could not be saved.
The victims were identified as Sintu Kumar and Sanjay Kumar, both residents of Kabarpur village. Sintu had been working at a shop in Chhattisgarh, while Sanjay was employed as a labourer in Patna.
