Arrah: Bhojpuri cinema’s popular “Power Star” Pawan Singh returned to his native village of Jokhari on Monday evening to mark the Chhath festival, drawing large crowds of villagers and fans eager to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Singh began his visit at the Maujampur-Mahuli Ganga Ghat, offering prayers and sprinkling sacred Ganga water on himself in devotion to the festival. He later visited the Shri Shri 1008 Shri Sadguru Shri Mata Manorath Dasi and Sati Kunwari temples, performing rituals and paying respects.
The actor then proceeded to the Mahuli Ghat, where he worshipped Lord Surya and delighted devotees with a few lines from his popular Chhath song, Orie-Orie Madhu Chhue. The performance sparked excitement among the crowd, with chants of “Power Star Zindabad” and “TRP Star Zindabad” filling the air.
Upon arriving in Jokhari, Singh touched the feet of his relatives, including his uncles, elder brothers, and his aunt observing the Chhath fast, before spending about twenty minutes meeting family and inquiring about festival preparations. Children, women, and the elderly flocked to see him, with many dancing to his songs. “Our Pawan has come, now Chhath has become more beautiful,” said one enthusiastic villager.
Speaking to the media, Singh extended his greetings to the people of Bihar and the Bhojpuri community, saying, “Whatever orders I receive from the party, I will serve the people with a spirit of service.” Asked about politics, he smiled and replied, “Today is the great festival of faith, Chhath, so I will not talk about politics.”
