Patna: Patna Civil Court was evacuated following a bomb threat claiming that RDX explosives had been placed on the premises. The warning was received via email, prompting panic among judges, lawyers, and court staff.
The Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) was immediately informed, and a four-hour search operation was carried out, but no explosives were found.
This is the second such threat in two months. On August 28, the court received a similar email alleging that “four RDX ILEDS” had been planted in judges’ chambers and the court campus, purportedly with the backing of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.
Lawyer Rishikesh Narayan Sinha said the latest email arrived a day prior to the evacuation. “This is a case of complete negligence. It is the second consecutive threat. When the information was given, there was chaos inside. Everyone rushed out. Judges and staff were evacuated while the investigation and a dog squad operation were underway,” he said.
