Patna: The Bihar Regiment Centre in Danapur hosted the passing out parade of the sixth batch of the Agniveer Scheme on Wednesday morning, where 550 Agniveers and 80 Territorial Army soldiers pledged to dedicate their lives to the security of the nation.
Families gathered at the parade ground to witness what many described as a moment of “historic pride”. In the mild winter chill, recruits in green uniforms marched through the Haka Gate with visible excitement, marking the culmination of 31 weeks of basic and advanced military training.
Brigadier Rakesh Kumar Bora, the regimental commandant, praised the recruits for their discipline and determination. “Only the fortunate get the opportunity to serve the army,” he told them, urging the new soldiers to uphold their oath to the tricolour and bring honour to the regiment wherever they are posted.

Before addressing the troops, Brigadier Bora inspected the parade and took the salute. He also presented awards to recruits who excelled in training. Among those honoured were Agniveer Tapeshwar Sidar Kumar (firing), Khushal Singh (physical training), Sumanta Minj (drill) and Sumit Kumar Singh (drill). Their parents were also felicitated.
The ceremony concluded with the Agniveers taking their final oath, administered by religious guides using verses from various scriptures. As they vowed to defend the nation and, if necessary, lay down their lives, families looked on with pride and emotion.
Colonel Tejinder Pal Singh Hundal, deputy commandant of the regiment, was also in attendance.
