Patna: Patna is set to launch an open-top double-decker bus service along JP Ganga Path from September, offering tourists panoramic views of the river Ganga and the city’s historic landmarks.
The 15.5km route will run between Digha Ghat and Kangan Ghat, with tickets priced at Rs 100 per person. Operated under a permit issued by the transport department, the service is being developed by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation as part of efforts to promote the riverside road as a tourist destination.
The 40-seater bus, with 20 seats on each deck, is equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning, a fridge, a microwave and an on-board washroom. Safety features include a panic button for emergencies. Passengers can also pre-order breakfast packs during their ride.

The service is expected to run at a speed of 20–25 km/h during evening hours, although the final schedule and launch date are yet to be announced.
Officials said the tours would showcase Patna’s cultural and architectural heritage, including landmarks such as Sabhyata Dwar and Darbhanga House, while allowing visitors to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Ganga from the bus’s open roof deck.
