Patna: The non-profit organisation Public Awareness for Healthful Approach for Living (PAHAL) on Tuesday held the Late Dr K.K. Sharan Memorial Free Deafness Camp at Nema Place, Exhibition Road, Patna, providing free hearing aids to 17 underprivileged patients after detailed audiological examinations.
The examinations were conducted by audiologist Suraj Kumar, who assessed each patient before fitting the devices. The initiative, held annually, aims to support individuals from economically weaker backgrounds suffering from hearing loss.
The hearing aids were donated by Dr Diwakar Tejaswi, Ms Divakshi Tejaswi, Mr Sudhakar Tapaswi, and Mr Vibhakar Yashaswi. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Diwakar Tejaswi reflected on the social service contributions of the late Dr K.K. Sharan and Ladli Sharan, describing them as pioneers of compassionate community healthcare in Bihar.
Mrs Smriti Abhijit, treasurer of PAHAL, highlighted the organisation’s broader initiatives, which include literacy, tailoring, and computer training programmes for women in Veer village, ongoing for over a decade.
Dr Kiran Sharan shared that the health camp was conceptualised by the late Dr Sharan and has benefited more than 3,500 patients since its inception.
Among those present at the event were Mrs Nandini Sharan, Dr Deepika Tejaswi, Mrs Karuna Sharan, Mr Naveen Kishore Sharan, and Kishore Kumar, along with several dignitaries including Manoj Kumar, Suman Kumar, and Neeraj Kumar.
