Patna: A group of six armed men carried out a daylight robbery at a residence on the outskirts of Patna on Monday, police said, looting cash and jewellery after holding the occupants hostage.
The incident took place in Non-Cooperative Colony under the Fatuha Police Station area at around 3pm.
Family Held Hostage
According to police, the assailants, all wearing masks and carrying firearms, forced their way into the home of Ashok Kumar Singh and confined family members at gunpoint.
Officials said the attackers assaulted Singh before moving to other parts of the house, where they threatened women and children while searching for valuables.
Cash And Jewellery Looted
The robbers broke open lockers and fled with jewellery estimated to be worth around Rs 6 lakh, along with Rs 20,000 in cash, police said.
Family members told investigators that the attackers appeared to be in their early twenties and acted in a coordinated manner.
Residents Raise Alarm
After the assailants fled, the family alerted neighbours, who informed emergency services. Police teams reached the scene and began an investigation.
CCTV Footage Under Review
Station House Officer Roshan Kumar said officers are examining CCTV footage from nearby houses and surrounding areas to identify the suspects.
Police said all angles are being investigated as part of efforts to trace those involved in the robbery.
