Patna : Public Awareness for Healthful Approach for Living (Pahal) organised the Dr KK Sharan Memorial Free Hearing Aid Camp at Nema Place on Exhibition Road in Patna on Wednesday, providing free hearing aids to 17 economically disadvantaged patients after medical examinations.

The patients were examined by audiologist Suraj Kumar, following which the hearing aids were distributed free of cost. The annual initiative honours the social service contributions of the late Dr KK Sharan.

Hearing Aids Distributed With Support From Donors

Dr Shankar Nath, the chief guest at the programme, appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by Pahal.

The hearing aids were provided with the support of Dr Divakar Tejaswi, Divakshi Tejaswi, Sudhakar Tapaswi and Vibhakar Yashaswi.

Speaking at the event, Dr Divakar Tejaswi recalled the social contributions of the late Dr KK Sharan and Ladli Sharan, highlighting their work for the welfare of the community.

More Than 3,600 Patients Have Benefited From Annual Camp

Dr Kiran Sharan, Pahal adviser and senior paediatrician, said the free hearing aid camp is organised every year in accordance with an initiative conceived by the late Dr KK Sharan.

According to her, more than 3,600 economically disadvantaged patients have benefited from the programme to date.

The initiative aims to improve access to hearing assistance for people who may otherwise struggle to afford hearing aids.

Pahal Runs Literacy And Skills Training Programmes

Dr Divakar Tejaswi, medical director of Pahal, said the organisation has also been running community development programmes in Veer village for the past 10 years.

These initiatives include basic literacy classes, sewing training for women and computer training. The programmes are intended to support education and help local residents develop practical skills.

Pahal’s work therefore extends beyond healthcare to include education and skills development at the community level.

Several Guests Attend The Programme

Kishore Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Suman Kumar and Neeraj Kumar were among those present at the event, along with other guests and community members.

The annual camp continues the legacy of Dr KK Sharan’s social service by providing hearing assistance to economically disadvantaged patients and supporting access to essential healthcare.
