Patna: Bihar is set to get a major infrastructure boost as the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi corridor will be opened to the public this May, Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin has announced. The project is expected to reduce travel time between Patna and Gaya to just one and a half hours.
The announcement came during a high-level review meeting held with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday. Minister Nabin reviewed the progress of key infrastructure projects, including the Amas–Darbhanga four-lane corridor, Auntha–Simaria road link, and the nearly completed Patna–Gaya–Dobhi highway.
Highlighting the progress on the Rs 1,910 crore highway project, Nabin stated that only minor works remain, including the shifting of a high-tension electricity line in the Jehanabad bypass area. He directed officials to expedite the process so that the road can be inaugurated this month as planned.
Further, the minister instructed that the remaining work on the Auntha–Simaria corridor be completed promptly and dedicated to the public. He also called for the completion of both rail overbridges (ROBs) in Bihta within two months, and stressed the importance of ensuring smooth vehicular movement between Patna and Bihta.
Officials were directed to conduct on-ground inspections of all ongoing projects before the next review meeting to maintain accountability and speed up delivery.
