Patna: The Patna High Court has refused to stay the BPSC 70th PT exam. However, the court has directed the BPSC to submit an affidavit by January 30. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 31.
During the hearing, a heated debate ensued between the government lawyer and the lawyer representing Jan suraaj, Prashant Kishor’s party. Jan suraaj had filed a petition in the High Court challenging the exam, alleging irregularities.
Prashant Kishor, who ended his 14-day hunger strike, expressed confidence in the judiciary, stating that they would approach the Supreme Court if the High Court did not address their concerns.
The BPSC 70th PT exam has been a source of significant controversy, with candidates demanding its cancellation and a re-examination. Protests have erupted across the state, with candidates blocking highways and railway tracks to voice their demands.
The candidates’ demands include the cancellation of the preliminary exam, a single exam with a single result, and an investigation into alleged irregularities in the examination process.
Several petitions have been filed in the High Court, including those by Jan Suraaj, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav, and Khan Sir, seeking the cancellation of the exam and the withdrawal of FIRs filed against protesting candidates.

The BPSC chairman has faced criticism for his handling of the situation, including holding a meeting with private coaching institutes to seek advice on conducting exams.
