Patna: Authorities in Patna have uncovered a sex trafficking operation being run out of Krishna Hotel in the Chiraiyatand area, where at least six young women — including two minors — were allegedly being forced into prostitution. The operation had reportedly been active for the past two months.
Following a raid on the premises by Kankarbagh police, two hotel managers — identified as Chandan Kumar from Supaul and Pankaj Kumar from Daniyawan — were arrested. The survivors, who hail from various districts in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, told officers they had been lured into the hotel with false promises of money and coerced into sex work.
Investigators revealed that the hotel had been leased six months ago, and that the trafficking network was operating through a group of agents who brought in customers. The girls were then sent to the clients. A case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant legal provisions.
According to DSP Sadar-1 Abhinav, the hotel owner, another manager, and an agent remain at large. Police have launched further raids to locate them and uncover the full extent of the trafficking network.
