Patna: Patna witnessed a major innovation event on Tuesday as Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) hosted the IIC Regional Meet 2025. The event was aimed at encouraging students, teachers, and innovators to develop new ideas and create startups. It brought together representatives from colleges, universities, and organisations that support entrepreneurship, highlighting the importance of collaboration in building a strong startup ecosystem.
The meet was organised by the Innovation Cell of AICTE under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This reflects the government’s focus on fostering creativity and entrepreneurship in higher education. The event emphasised the role of colleges and universities in helping students turn their ideas into practical solutions that can benefit society and create job opportunities.
The Chief Guest of the meet was Ajay Yadav, Secretary of the Education Department in Bihar. Speaking at the event, he said that education should not only focus on learning from books but also on developing skills that allow students to innovate and solve real-world problems. Other dignitaries present included Akhilesh Kumar, Assistant Director of AICTE, Prof Dr Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, and Kumod Kumar, CAO of CIMP. Prof T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, addressed the meet online.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome speech from Prof Dr Rana Singh. He said that true innovation is not only about ideas but also about creating meaningful impact. He added that CIMP aims to empower both students and teachers to experiment, learn, and develop solutions that can bring positive change to society.
During the meet, sessions focused on mentoring students, providing industry guidance, and finding funding opportunities for new startups. Many participants shared success stories of young innovators, inspiring others to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. The discussions highlighted the need for colleges to encourage creativity and provide a supportive environment for innovation.
The IIC Regional Meet concluded with a clear message: India’s future innovation and startup growth depends on nurturing talent in colleges and universities. The organisers expressed hope that more students from cities like Patna will take the lead in creating businesses that contribute to the nation’s economic development and social progress.
