Patna: Flight operations at Patna’s Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport are gradually returning to normal after widespread disruption to IndiGo services since 3 December. However, authorities said it may take more time for schedules to stabilise fully.

On Thursday, five incoming and five outgoing IndiGo flights — 10 in total — were cancelled, causing considerable inconvenience to passengers. Many were left waiting for hours for updates, while others were forced to abandon their travel plans.

More flights operating despite cancellations

Despite the cancellations, passengers received some relief as 32 pairs of flights operated through the airport, totalling 64 arrivals and departures. These included services by IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet.

By comparison, Wednesday also saw 10 IndiGo flights cancelled, while 31 other flights operated, totalling 62 movements.

In response to passenger complaints, the airport administration has issued two 24-hour helpline numbers for assistance: 0612-220797 and 9471000714.

IndiGo flights cancelled on Thursday

The IndiGo services that did not operate were:

  • 6E6387/2163 (Delhi–Patna–Delhi)
  • 6E6451/6452 (Bengaluru–Patna–Bengaluru)
  • 6E915/6683 (Hyderabad–Patna–Hyderabad)
  • 6E6549/6550 (Delhi–Patna–Delhi)
  • 6E678/679 (Chennai–Patna–Chennai)

Airport officials said efforts were under way to restore full normalcy, but delays and cancellations may persist until IndiGo resolves operational issues affecting its nationwide network.
