Patna: Passengers using the parking facility on the Karbigahiya side of Patna Junction will now have to pay higher parking fees, with revised rates coming into effect from Wednesday.
The railway administration has increased charges for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, with the sharpest hike seen in long-duration parking for cars. Officials said the revised pricing is aimed at reducing unnecessary parking and improving space management in the congested station area.
At the same time, the railways have introduced a free five-minute pick-and-drop facility for the first time, offering relief to passengers arriving briefly to drop off or receive travellers.
According to officials, the move is expected to ease traffic congestion within the Karbigahiya premises and streamline vehicle movement around the station.
Information boards displaying the revised rates are being installed at the parking site to help commuters avoid confusion.
