Patna: Tensions erupted at a Lok Adalat in Patna on Saturday as hundreds of people protested against the non-settlement of traffic challan cases. The incident occurred during the national Lok Adalat, which was organised across courts in Bihar to resolve various pending cases.
Protesters, angered by the announcement that traffic challan cases would not be heard, created a ruckus at the court premises. They later marched to the Patna SSP office to lodge their complaints. Police personnel were deployed to manage the crowd, but the commotion persisted throughout the day.
According to the protesters, prior information about the hearing of traffic challan cases was available on the official court website. Many had come prepared to get their cases resolved, only to be informed that no hearings would take place. The crowd, frustrated by the lack of clarity and action, remained at the SSP office, demanding answers.
