Patna: The Patna administration has deferred a planned traffic trial on Nehru Path (Bailey Road) ahead of metro station construction between the Income Tax roundabout and Golf Club (Patel Bhavan).
The trial, which was scheduled for Saturday at 11am, has been officially cancelled in view of the NEET-UG re-examination on Sunday.
Officials said the move was aimed at preventing inconvenience to candidates travelling to their examination centres.
Lane closure date likely to be revised
Under the earlier traffic plan, one lane on the stretch was to be fully closed from Monday to facilitate construction work.
However, with the cancellation of the initial trial, the official date for lane closure is now expected to be revised.
Traffic SP (in-charge) Satish Kumar said a fresh date and timing for the traffic trial would be announced after the completion of the NEET re-examination.

NEET-UG question papers brought under high security
Meanwhile, authorities have stepped up security arrangements for the re-examination.
Officials said the NEET-UG question papers were transported to Patna aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft, Gajaraj, and moved under strict supervision to designated collection centres.
From Patna, some question papers were dispatched to Darbhanga, while others were sent to Gaya airport for onward distribution to local authorities.
Re-exam to be held under enhanced security
The NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled to take place on Sunday across several districts in Bihar, including Patna.
The re-test follows the cancellation of the earlier examination held on June 3, after allegations of a paper leak.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has said it is making extensive preparations to ensure that the re-examination is conducted in a fair and secure manner.
