Patna: Patna’s district magistrate, Dr. Thiyagarajan SM, carried out an inspection of the Patna Metro Rail Corporation’s priority corridor on Saturday, reviewing facilities and giving a series of instructions aimed at improving passenger convenience and safety.
Accompanied by Abhilasha Sharma, additional managing director of the corporation and joint secretary in the state’s urban development and housing department, Thiyagarajan began the review at Zero Mile station, where parking arrangements and passenger amenities were assessed. The team later visited ISBT station to discuss encroachment issues and the state of the approach road, before inspecting crowd control measures and entry–exit points at Bhootnath station. The inspection concluded at the Metro Depot, where preparations for rolling stock and operations were evaluated.
Following the visit, the district magistrate instructed officials to ensure adequate and systematic parking facilities at all stations, take swift action to remove encroachments, and develop a clear strategy for managing crowds in anticipation of rising passenger numbers.
He added that once these measures are in place, the Patna Metro would soon provide the public with a safe, modern and convenient transport option, in line with the government’s aim of offering a comfortable and smooth travel experience.
