Patna: Construction at Khemnichak metro station, part of the Patna Metro project, is progressing steadily, with engineers currently focused on structural and corrective work designed to ensure safety, durability and compliance with technical standards.
Officials overseeing the project said recent activity at the site reflects a deliberate emphasis on quality control rather than visible speed. Work is being carried out strictly in line with engineering specifications to ensure the station’s long-term robustness and operational reliability.
At present, attention has turned to key components of the station’s pre-engineered building (PEB) structure. This includes the rectification of gusset plates and improvements to PEB cleats—technical but crucial elements that strengthen joints and improve the overall stability of the structure.

In parallel, engineers are working on SCO parameter settings, a process intended to enhance precision and technical accuracy across the construction process. While such work may not be immediately apparent to future commuters, officials say it forms the backbone of a safe and smooth metro system.
Project authorities stressed that these behind-the-scenes tasks are essential to preventing structural issues later and to meeting safety benchmarks before the station is opened to the public. “This phase is about getting the fundamentals right,” an official involved in the project said. “What commuters will eventually experience depends on the quality of work being done now.”
The Patna Metro project, still under phased construction, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city once operational, with stations like Khemnichak playing a key role in the network’s eastern corridor.
