Patna: The two-day Patna Mind Fest 2026 began at the Chandragupta Institute of Management Patna on Wednesday, with teams from Patna and outside the city securing top positions in the General Quiz and India Quiz contests.
The team ‘Happy Eid’, comprising Calvin, Gokul and Ankur, won the General Quiz. ‘Patna Ke Presleys’, comprising Sanabway Baherjee, Shashank Tygai and Jayakanthan R, finished first runner-up, while Mumbai-based ‘Endu Cutlets’, comprising Rajiv Rai, Vibhendu Tiwari and Brajendu Bhaskar, finished second runner-up.
In the India Quiz, ‘Endu Cutlets’ secured the top position. ‘Patna Ke Presleys’ finished first runner-up, while ‘Smells Like Team Spirit’, comprising Saswata, Nikhil and Arunodoy, was placed second runner-up.
More Than 90 Teams Take Part
More than 90 teams appeared for the written preliminary rounds of both quiz contests. The top eight teams in each contest qualified for the onstage finals.
Two school teams from Patna — one each from Don Bosco Academy and St Karen’s High School — were among the finalists. Contestants were also allowed to choose their own team names.
Creative Writing Draws 300 Participants
The Creative Writing competition, held in both Hindi and English, attracted more than 300 participants. Most of the participants were schoolchildren, while people from different walks of life also took part.
The results of the Creative Writing competition will be announced on Thursday.
Fest Inaugurated By Bihar Museum Director-General
The eighth edition of Patna Mind Fest was inaugurated by Anjani Kumar Singh, Director-General of the Bihar Museum.
Vivek Kumar Singh, Chairman of RERA Bihar; Rachana Patil, IAS, Secretary, Department of Finance, Bihar; Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Additional Secretary, Governor Secretariat; Abhay Jha, IAS, Additional Secretary, Rural Works Department; and Prof Rana Singh, Director, CIMP, were also present at the inauguration.
The annual event is organised by the Bihar IAS Officers’ Association and Extra-C, a civil society initiative. It aims to highlight Bihar’s legacy of learning and provides participants from different backgrounds a platform to compete across five events — India Quiz, General Quiz, Creative Writing in English and Hindi, Cryptic Crosswords, and Word Bee.
Cryptic Crosswords And Word Bee On Thursday
The concluding day of the festival will feature Cryptic Crosswords and Word Bee competitions, followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
