Patna: Patna municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar carried out a surprise inspection of the city’s drainage pumping stations (DPS) on Monday following heavy rain on Sunday night and Monday.
The inspection, conducted with teams from Patna Municipal Corporation and Budko, aimed to assess the city’s preparedness for further rainfall in the coming days. Officials were instructed to remain alert, check resources at drainage stations, and ensure emergency measures were in place.
Parashar directed project directors, deputy project directors and assistant project directors of all zones and district headquarters to personally inspect the DPS under their jurisdiction. Executive officers of the municipal corporation were also told to monitor the drainage system in their respective wards and take steps to prevent disruption.
Citizens were urged to report any drainage-related issues to the municipal helpline number 155304, with officials assuring that teams are on standby 24/7 to respond.
